Ocean, originally written by John Butler, arranged and performed by Joshua Eversham. One of my favorite things about this piece, and the guitar as an instrument for that matter, is the perfect ratio of melody and harmony being played simultaneously. It's really a limitless instrument! The dynamics keep you engaged, and the repeated themes get stuck in your head. It's really a beautifully written song. To record this session, my dad and I went for a hike, guitar and equipment in hand, through the dense bush, climbing under old barb wire fences, until we found this amazing piece of land. The sun was almost gone and evening was setting in, so we had to be quick before darkness, but i think the urgency was captured in this performance.
